Is SalahNow really free?
Yes. There are no ads, subscriptions or in-app purchases in the app. A free account is all you need for shared features such as group khatm, shared dhikr and Community.
How are prayer times determined?
In Türkiye, the timetable published by Diyanet İşleri Başkanlığı is used for the city you select. Official institution timetables are used in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia and Bosnia and Herzegovina; in other countries, one of 14 calculation methods suggested for your location is used. You can see and change the selected source in settings.
Why do prayer times differ between apps?
The difference usually comes from the source: one app may use an institution’s published table while another uses an astronomical calculation. Location, time zone, calculation method and safety-margin minutes also change the times. SalahNow shows which source it is using; when comparing, make sure the same city, date and source are selected.
Are fajr and the morning adhan the same?
In the Diyanet timetable, fajr is the moment the morning prayer time begins; the morning adhan is called then, and eating and drinking end at that time when fasting. Sunrise is when the morning prayer time ends. The app shows both separately.
Why didn’t the adhan notification arrive?
First check that notifications are switched on for that prayer inside the app, then check the phone’s notification permission for SalahNow. Focus mode, silent mode and battery optimisation can suppress notifications. The notification health steps in the help centre narrow the problem down in order.
Can I use the app offline?
Without a connection, times are calculated on your device and shown; the institution’s published table is only used when you are online. Content such as the Quran text, recitation and tafsir requires an internet connection.
Do I need to create an account?
No. Prayer times, the Quran, qibla, the dhikr counter and the calendar work without an account. An account is needed for sync across devices, group khatm and dhikr rooms, and Community.
Which athan recordings are available?
You can choose from 16 athan recordings, set a different one for each prayer and preview them before choosing. You can also keep a silent notification instead of an audible alert.
Which languages are supported?
Turkish, English, Arabic, Indonesian, Malay, Urdu, Bengali, German, French and Persian. The app is offered under its own local name in each language, and Quran translation and dua sources vary by language.
