Frequently asked questions.
Is SalahNow free?
Yes. There are no ads, no subscription and no in-app purchases.
Do I need an account?
No. Prayer times, athan notifications, the Qur’an, the qibla, the dhikr counter and widgets work without one. A free account is needed only to sync between devices and for shared khatm, shared dhikr and the community.
Where do the prayer times come from?
Where a national institution publishes a timetable, the app serves it: Diyanet in Türkiye, JAKIM in Malaysia, MUIS in Singapore, Umm al-Qura in Saudi Arabia and Dar al-Ifta in Egypt; in Indonesia it shows Kemenag timetable data. Several mosques’ and centres’ published timetables can also be selected. Everywhere else the time is calculated with one of 14 calculation methods; the app shows which one is in use and lets you change it in settings.
Does it work without internet?
Yes. Offline, prayer times are calculated on your device and can differ from the institutional timetable by a few minutes; the source timetable is used again once you are back online.
Which languages is it available in?
In 10 languages: Turkish, Arabic, English, German, French, Indonesian, Malay, Urdu, Persian, and Bangla. The app carries its own local name in each language.
